Forge is one of the essential workstations in 7 Days to Die that will allow you to smelt metals which then can be used to craft iron/steel items, tools, and weapons, or craft cement using stones. This guide will help you how to unlock Forge in 7 Days to Die.

How to Unlock Forge in 7 Days to Die

Unlocking Forge station will require you to first unlock its recipe by reaching Level 5 in Workstations Skill Level. To increase the Skill Level of Workstations you will have to find 5 magazines called Forge Ahead. Gathering each Forge Ahead magazine will increase a level for your Workstation Skill Level and unlock the Forge recipe automatically.

You can find the Forge Ahead magazines on the shelves and inside the boxes in various buildings throughout the biomes. However, the drop rate of these magazines is comparatively lower than common items and resources. To increase the drop rate for Forge Ahead magazines, put some points in the Advanced Engineering Perk.

How to Craft the Forge in 7 Days to Die

Once you have unlocked the Forge recipe by increasing your Workstation Skill Level to Level 5, you need to acquire the following materials to craft it.

  • 50x Cobblestone Rocks
  • 1x Wood Log
  • 10x Leather
  • 3x Duct Tape
  • 3x Short Iron Pipe

After getting all the required materials, open the Crafting Menu to craft it. Wait for a certain time for the crafting to be finished and once done, it will be stored in your inventory. Now, select it from your inventory to place it down.

How to Use Forge Station in 7 Days to Die

Forge Station is used for smelting metals like Iron and steel along with other useful items. However, for you to craft any item in Forge, you must add fuel to it. You can use Wood and Coal as fuel for the Forge to function properly. After that, place the metals and appropriate resources inside the Smelter to start crafting respective items.
