Palia: Chasing Perfection Quest Guide

Chasing Perfection is a main story quest for Eshelon in Palia. It is the fifth main story quest in the Royal Highlands expansion, which begins automatically after completing the “Somewhere That’s Green” quest. After finding two keys for the palace, Eshelon asks you to find him at an Old Amphitheatre in search of the third key. In this guide, we will walk you through the Chasing Perfection quest in Palia.

How to Complete the Chasin Perfection Quest in Palia

Head to Old Amphitheatre

As the quest begins, it will direct you to head to the northeast side of the map. Follow the quest marker, and when you are about to reach the old Amphitheatre, you will get to speak with the narrator. After the dialogues, head inside the Amphitheatre to find Eshelon. Speak with him, and he will ask you to find a way to Halward’s lab.

Look for an alternate entrance to Halward’s Lab

After speaking with Eshelon, go to the west side of the Amphitheatre to find a door with a note. Interact with it, and it will hint to check the tree by the cliff. Before you find the tree, speak with Eshelon. Once done, go to the east side of the Amphitheatre to spot a big white tree on a rock. Climb on the rock to find a button on the wall. Press the button to activate the door. Now, go back to the door and interact with it to enter Halward’s lab. Speak with Eshelon once you are inside the lab.

Solve the sliding puzzle

Interact with the sliding puzzle on the wall and reorder the blocks correctly to form a fish image. Start with the lower-right corner and make your way through the middle to the top-left to easily reorder the blocks. Upon completing the puzzle, it will unlock the vault door.

Enter Halward’s Vault Room

Go inside the vault room and speak with Eshelon. He will ask you to obtain a Hydroflow Mask to unlock Halward’s Vault.

Obtain a Hydroflow Mask

Leave Halward’s vault and hunt for the creatures with a blue mask. These creatures will have a chance of dropping a Hydroflow Mask as you hunt them. Use the bow to shoot at the creatures with a blue mask to get the Hydroflow Mask.

Unlock Halward’s Vault

After getting the Hydroflow Mask, go back inside Halward’s lab. Go inside the vault room and interact with the box. Contribute the Hydroflow Mask to unlock the vault. As the vault opens, you will get the following items.

• Halward’s Blessing
• Note on Halward’s Blessing

Speak with Eshelon about the relic, and he will ask you to collect some Amber Echo and 5 fish from Royal Highlands.

Collect Amber Echo and 5 Fish from Royal Highlands

Leave Halward’s lab and start your search to collect 100 Amber Echo and catch any 5 fish from the Highlands.

NOTE: If you have already caught 5 fish at this point, you will not have to catch them again.

To collect Amber Echo, hunt down creatures, mine the nodes, or cut down the trees trapped in Amber crystal. As you forage the loot from the ground from any of these sources, you will collect Amber Echo.

Return to Eshelon

After collecting Amber Echo and any five fish from Royal Highlands, go back inside Halward’s lab. Speak with Eshelon to give him the items and start charging Halward’s Blessing. Go through the dialogues, and the quest will conclude. Moreover, it will initiate the “Cat’s in the Cradle” quest automatically.
