A Hoot and a Half Quest Walkthrough – Disney Dreamlight Valley

A Hoot and a Half is a story quest for Olaf in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It is exclusive to the new Storybook Vale expansion and players can start this quest by picking up the “Olaf’s Fun Facts” item. This guide will walk you through the A Hoot and a Half quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Complete A Hoot and a Half Quest – Walkthrough

Starting the Quest

To start the A Hoot and a Half quest, you need to pick up Olaf’s Fun Facts item. You can find it on a rug in the east wing of the Library of Lore area.

Bring Olaf his fun facts

Upon initiating the quest, go to Olaf and speak with him to give him his fun facts. Listen to the conversation between Olaf and the Lorekeeper. After their conversation, speak with the Lorekeeper. Once done, open the map to find Anna and speak with her.

Take pictures of the things around The Bind

After speaking to the characters, take the following pictures around The Bind biome.

• The Library of Lore.
• A mysterious hidden doorway beneath the bridge in the Bind.
• 2x The fountains. (2)
• 3x The owls. (3)

Go beneath the main bridge in the Bind biome to find a door. Take a picture of it and there are two fountains underneath the bridge, one on each side. For the owls, you need to take a picture of three different owls.

Note: All the owl critters have different spawn times and days.

After taking all the photos, go to Olaf and speak with him.

Befriend any owl

Owls are friendly critters and they do not run away, so it is easy to befriend them. All you have to do is to feed them Barley to unlock them as a companion.

Decorate the Bind with Autumn Mage Scarecrow

Now, craft an Autumn Mage Scarecrow at the Crafting Station using the following materials.

• 10x Petrified Wood
• 5x Trumpet Snail
• 5x Soil
• 10x Pine Cone
• 1x Sorcerer Hat Hermit Crab

Place it anywhere in The Bind biome. Once done, go back to Olaf and speak with him to conclude the quest.

Rewards

Completing the A Hoot and a Half quest will give the following rewards to the players.

• 1,000 Friendship Points
• 5x Barley
• 500 Story Magic
