Diablo IV: How to Get a Mount

To traverse the greater distances quickly between the regions of the World of Sanctuary in Diablo IV, players do need to get a Mount/Horse. Coming into the World of Sanctuary will leave players with no Mount and to get a new Mount, players will be required to progress ahead in the game to complete Donan’s Quest which is essential for unlocking the Mount.

How to Get a Mount in Diablo IV

To get a Mount in Diablo IV, players will be required to complete Donan’s Favor quest. It is a brief quest that will require players to talk to the stablemaster in the town of Kyovashad in the Fractured Peaks Region. However, players will not be able to complete this quest until they have completed Act III of the story and unlocked Act IV of the story. Players can see the Donan’s Favor quest upon talking to the stablemaster in Kyovashad earlier in the game but it will not allow players to complete the quest.

Once players have unlocked Act IV of the story, they need to go to the Cathedral in Kyovashad and talk to Donan and Donan will suggest players to get a Mount. Now, it is the time to finally go to the Stablemaster and complete the quest. Go and speak to Oskar (Stablemaster) in Kyovashad and select the “Mount: Donan’s Favor” quest. Watch the cutscene and it will unlock the mount for the players.

A brief tutorial on the Mount will display on the screen and players will get the Old Nell Steed Mount which is a starting Mount in the game. If players have unlocked skins for Mount, they will be able to see in the Stable and can equip the Mount Skin by simply selecting it.

After getting the Mount players can press the Z Button (PC) or Right Button on the D-Pad (Controller/Consoles) to call the Mount anywhere except Dungeons or Cellars.

How to Buy New Mounts

Upon unlocking the Mount, players can visit the Stable anytime. To buy new horses which will be Grey Steed and Mottled Steed, players need to switch the Tab to Vendor and they will be able to buy the Mounts for 20,000 Gold each.

How to Unlock Mount in Season 1 of Diablo IV

Unlocking the Mount for Seasonal Character is no different than the Eternal Character. As players create the seasonal character for Season of Malignant, they have the option to skip the campaign (only if the player has ended the campaign with any of the created characters). Once they are in Kyovashad town, they can talk to Oskar to complete Donan’s Favor quest and get the mount.

NOTE: If players have completed the Donan’s Favor quest in the campaign, they don’t have to do the quest in Season of Malignant.

As each player can create up to 10 characters in Diablo IV, unlocking a Mount for any one of the characters will unlock the Mount for the rest of the characters.
