Exploration plays a key role in acquiring rare and legendary items in the game. One of the early containers that most players will encounter is located on the Incognito, the player’s own ship. It is a Level 11 Lockpick container on the wall inside the room with the Workbench. Incognito is the player’s personal ship in The Outer Worlds 2. The ship has various rooms that players can explore to find lore-related items and locked containers. One of the locked containers that players will notice early is inside the Workbench room on the bottom floor. The container requires a Level 11 Lockpick skill to open it.

However, there is an alternate route to open this container. There is a hidden power switch in the room that players need to disable to open the container. If you have obtained the N-Ray Scanner from the N-Ray Range while progressing the main story, it will be easier for you to locate the power switch. The N-Ray Scanner reveals the wires and traps through the wall. If you use the N-Ray Scanner on the container, it will highlight the wire coming from the power switch. Track the wire to reach the power switch and disable it to open the container.

Now, if you don’t have the N-Ray Scanner, you can go over to the power switch location and disable it. The power switch is behind the boxes in the corner, right of the Workbench. Jump onto the box and crouch to locate the power switch. Interact with it to disable the power, and the container will unlock, revealing the Rookie’s Reward, a Legendary SMG weapon.

The Rookie’s Reward is a great weapon to use as it levels up its own. It does not depend on your Guns Skill to increase its potential. The more you use it, the better it gets.
