Mortal Shell 2: How to Get the Slayer Seal
Discover how to get the Slayer Seal in Mortal Shell 2, a crucial defensive item that makes the game difficulty easier.
Mortal Shell 2 is one of the most challenging Soulslike games, with deadlier and more aggressive enemies, punishing gameplay, and no difficulty sliders to make the journey easy. Despite the overall challenging experience, it is not completely designed in a way that throws off players. There are numerous items throughout the world to help you with your journey. One of the things that is optional and makes the gameplay genuinely easier is the Slayer Seal. Seals are one of the defensive items that grant you passive effects and actions to defend against incoming attacks. In this guide, we will explain how to get the Slayer Seal in Mortal Shell 2.
How to Get the Slayer Seal in Mortal Shell 2

Slayer Seal is one of the early-game Seals that is optional for players to take at any time. It is located on a stone throne inside the Marrow Keep. Marrow Keep is the central hub of your journey in Mortal Shell 2. You will arrive at the Marrow Keep after completing the tutorial. Once you have reached the Marrow Keep, head inside Merrick’s cave and go out through the opening ahead. Here, you will find a Stone Throne with a Slayer Seal sitting on it. Interact with it to pick up the Slayer Seal.
After that, you can equip the Slayer Seal in your inventory, granting you the special moves for your defense.
NOTE: Equipping the Slayer Seal locks you out of earning some of the main achievements.
All Slayer Seal Effects & How It Works

The Slayer Seal grants the Gloomslayer ability. It allows the sidearms to deal Break Damage. Break Damage is the stagger in this game. If you deal high Break Damage, it will stagger the enemy, opening them up for a Riposte. In addition to dealing Break Damage, performing a Riposte attack on an enemy restores some Health and Resolve. In simpler words, you can stagger enemies from a distance using a sidearm, then lunge in for a Riposte attack to defeat them; you heal back, and you get Resolve (ammo) for the sidearm.
Because the Slayer Seal is very broken, it makes the whole journey easier, which is why it locks some of the main achievements in the playthrough. Moreover, if you equip the Slayer Seal, you cannot Harden or Parry, which are the other defense maneuvers.
