Nintendo celebrates its 131st anniversary

Today is a very special date for Nintendo fans, as Nintendo is celebrating its anniversary. Specifically, on this date, it turns 131 years old.

We must remember that Nintendo was founded on September 23, 1889, in Japan therefore its September 23, 2020, in Japan, which means that the company already has 131 years behind it. Fusajiro Yamauchi founded Nintendo in Tokyo and we must also remember that the company was not always dedicated to developing consoles and video games; in fact, he started the business with Hanafuda cards that quickly became a success.

The company also embarked on other projects, such as a taxi business, and instant rice business, and even love hotels. Finally, the company’s launch of Game & Watch and Famicom made it become one of the most important video game companies worldwide. To this day, Nintendo continues to reinvent the video game industry with recent products such as Nintendo Labo, Ring Fit Adventure, or yet to released Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.
