Nintendo Plans To Close Nintendo 3DS And Wii U eShops In Latin America On July 31

Nintendo officials announce that they are going to close Nintendo 3DS And Wii U eShops In Latin America & Caribbean Countries On July 31.

Nintendo adds that in certain countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, the limited version of Nintendo eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS consoles, which offered some basic functions such as the ability to redeem codes, will be closed in a few months.

According to Nintendo, Mexico and Brazil will not be affected.

Nintendo advises its users to take the following action on their Nintendo 3DS or Wii U before the closure date of July 31, 2020:

Redownload any previously-downloaded software from the Nintendo eShop

  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Wii U

Check the Nintendo eShop for any available updates to software you own

  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Wii U

Redeem any download codes you have that have not yet been redeemed

  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Wii U
