NPD releases top-selling fighting games and Smash Bros. Ultimate tops the list

Have you ever wondered how popular some fighting games are? At least for the United States, NPD analyst Matt Piscatella broke the best-selling fighting game as of the end of October 2019. Surprisingly Smash Bros. Ultimate tops the list for Nintendo Switch.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now the best-selling fighting game of all time with over 15 million units sold, so it’s not surprising to see it top the Switch chart — even without digital sales — though NetherRealm Studios titles would make up the bulk of the other charts.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch has smashed its way into the record books, earning the title as the best-selling fighting game of all time.
