The Royal Highlands is an expansive adventure zone with wide plains, mountains, and ruins, perfect for roaming on horseback and hunting. Royal Highlands include two new types of creatures for players to hunt. These creatures are Jaakcat and Royal Sernuk, with unique abilities on the masked variants. Hunting these creatures is essential for progressing in Chapter 3 of the main story and collecting the masks for unlocking the chests across the zone. How to Hunt Jaakcat & Royal Sernuk in Palia
Jaakcat and Royal Sernuk are exclusive to the Royal Highlands adventure zone. There are three types of Jaakcat, including the common Jaakcat, Midnight Jaakcat, and Hollow Jaakcat. Hollow Jaakcat is the rarest among all three Jaakcat types. It has the same behavior as the Azure Chapaa, where it duplicates itself into three other Jaakcats after being alerted to the threat. The Royal Sernuk is a similar variant of Proudhorned Sernuk. It possesses the same teleportation power after being alerted.
Hunting the Jaakcat and Royal Sernuk will require you to be a bit discreet, as they can flee swiftly. If you are hunting the Hollow Jaakcat and Royal Sernuk, it is best to use the Dispel Arrows to disrupt their magical abilities and stun them. After that, you can switch to Fine Arrows to hunt them. For the rest of the Jaakcats, the Fine Arrows are fine for the hunt.
In addition to hunting these creatures, it is also important to mention that you might run into Amber-touched creatures. These creatures will be inside the Amber crystal. Before you can hunt these creatures, you will have to break the Amber. You can use the Royal Arrows to break the Amber instantly.
NOTE: Royal Arrows deal the same damage as the Fine Arrows.
Furthermore, there are also Masked Variants of Jaakcats and Royal Sernuks. There are four main masked variants for these creatures, including Pyroflow, Aeroflow, Terraflow, and Hydroflow. Hunting these variants will have a chance of dropping a corresponding mask. You can use these masks to open respective chests across Royal Highlands.
