Pokémon seems to abandon the classic sprites with Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Once again we have an interesting message that has gone viral recently and it relates to one of the most prominent titles in the catalog on the hybrid console. This time we are talking about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

The text shows us a really important change not only for this game but for the whole franchise in general. As many of you may know, it seems that for the first time the classic Pokémon sprites, with their mythical retro style, are being abandoned. Both these remakes and Pokémon Legends: Arceus seems to be doing without them.

“It looks like BDSP and Legends are doing away with sprites altogether, as the Pokémon show still images of their 3D models (BDSP), static images (Legends), and official artwork for items (both games). It saddens me a bit because I love their sprite work, but I’m not surprised,” the message reads. His replies have been flooded with comments from fans who say they will miss these sprites.
