Portable screen for Xbox Series S is a hit on Kickstarter – players raised money in minutes

Announced in June by UPspec Gaming, the xScreen portable screen for the next-generation Xbox Series S console was a real hit on Kickstarter. The money for its production and release was raised by users in literally ten minutes. To date, players have contributed $52,570 of the requested $9,703 to the project. The fundraising campaign will continue for another 28 days.
The xScreen is an overlay on the back of the console with a folding IPS screen (11.6″). Essentially, the xScreen turns the Series S into a laptop-like display and can be used for “portable” gaming if there is an external power source nearby. Previously, similar portable monitors were produced for the first PlayStation, GameCube, and a number of other consoles.
In terms of features, xScreen has a screen with a resolution of 1080p and refresh rate of 60 Hz, as well as a built-in power supply, 5-watt speaker, and mounts that tightly hold the entire structure on the console. The device weighs 0.69 kg and when attached, along with the Series S, easily fits into a standard-sized backpack.
The display will start at $249, but there are discounts to the $186 level for those who support it as part of a fundraising campaign.
The launch is scheduled for 2022.
