Rockstar to release a patch for the PC version of GTA Online, taking into account the work of a programmer who managed to reduce downloads by 70%

Rockstar spoke about the upcoming patch for the PC version of GTA Online in a commentary to PC Gamer Magazine.

The developers reported that they researched the experience of a user under the nickname t0st, who managed to reduce the download time in GTA Online on PC from six minutes to 1 minute and 50 seconds, that is, by about 70%.

As noted by Rockstar, the enthusiast was indeed able to find code points related to GTA Online download times on PC that could be improved. The studio thanked t0st and announced that it will make the appropriate changes in the next patch.

Details and release date of the update for GTA Online on PC were not disclosed. Thus, it is not yet known whether the loading times in the game will be reduced after the patch.

After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that the user t0st actually found sections of the game code that are related to loading times and that can be improved. As a result, we have made some changes that will take effect after the next update.
