Sega interested in releasing Yakuza Ishin spin-offs for the Western market
This was mentioned by Chief Localization Producer Scott Strichart in an interview with Rocket Beans Gaming.
Strichart says they have a variety of games that need localization. But for now, the team’s hands are tied with new high-priority projects that the Japanese leadership wants to release for a Western audience in the first place.
As Scott says in his interview, they just need to find the right time to start working on the localization of non-priority projects so that they do not interfere with their main work.
Yakuza Ishin (Japanese: “Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!”) Is a spin-off of the Yakuza series, set in the Troubled Times of Japan (Bakumatsu) between 1853-1867.
The game was released on February 22, 2014, only in Japan for the Playstation 3 and 4 consoles. The spin-off received positive reviews from many Japanese publications, including Famitsu.
