If you are a fan of classic 2D scrolling shooter games, which were most successful in the first half of the 90s, you probably did not miss the attention of the Czech independent studio Rake in Grass, called Jets’n’Guns. This 2004 game has gained worldwide acclaim and can still be seen as the best 2D space action genre ever has. The fact that the creators with this title managed to fill the niche market, which certainly has its commercial justification, is evidenced by the fact that they are currently working on its free continuation.
If you like this genre, you haven’t played Jets’n’Guns yet, or just want to remind yourself of it, and you own a Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite console, we have good news for you. The Rake in Grass people, after the relatively decent success that their other game (Rampage Knights) reaped on this platform, decided to release another of their successful PC titles, and the logical choice was logically on Jets’N’Guns.
If you do not know Jets’N’Guns, we will briefly introduce it to you: Jets’n’Guns is a 2D, side-scrolling shoot ’em up computer game released in late 2004 for Microsoft Windows by Czech studio RakeInGrass software. In April 2006, a version for Mac OS X was released. In December 2006 an expansion, Jets’n’Guns Gold, was released.
When you say Jets’N’Guns, one must not forget the name of the Swedish metal band Machinae Supremacy, who has prepared a soundtrack for the game, which has also become an iconic affair.
Jets’N’Guns for Switch is released on December 16th.
