Former Mojang developer: talks to include Minecraft in Super Smash Bros. started 5 years ago

Every time a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character is announced, rumors and bets begin to emerge about who will be chosen to occupy one of the game’s squares. One of those that had already been talked about more than once will come true soon, because Steve, the protagonist of Minecraft, will be the next fighter.

As was already hinted yesterday, the announcement was made with a short video presented by Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the game, who has been in charge of revealing that the characters of the successful Mojang title have been chosen to be part of the second season pass.

As with other fighters, such as the Hero of Dragon Quest, we can change Steve’s appearance for that of other Minecraft characters and thus control Alex, one of the Zombies, or even alternate his appearance with Enderman. In addition, in the video that you have accompanying the news, you can take a look at the curious movements that they will have.

All of them will have skills based on the use and construction of blocks to crush their opponents. Regarding their Final Smash, they will be able to put their opponents in a castle full of Creepers that will immediately blow up with some blocks of dynamite, so you better be careful with this powerful attack by Steve and company.

Although the trailer of this group of fighters offers us a great preview, Sakurai has promised that on Saturday, October 3 at 4:30 p.m, he will carry out a live broadcast to talk more in-depth of Steve and the other Minecraft guests, so we’ll be on the lookout for everything he’ll show in a couple of days.
