Ubisoft Responds to Star Wars Outlaws Main Protagonist’s Appearance Criticism

Star Wars Outlaws is about a month away from its global launch, but it has received criticism on various aspects including the graphics, especially the appearance of the main protagonist after the reveal of the game. Players claim that the studio made the protagonist ‘uglier’ than the actual actress who played the role.

Yesterday, during an interview with The Washington Post, the creative director of Star Wars Outlaws Julian Gerighty responded to the hate against the appearance of the protagonist. Gerighty stated: “It makes no sense to me, and it’s not worth engaging with. If you engage with bad-faith people, there’s no nuance and no possibility of real dialogue. So all we can do is make the best game possible.”

Before this statement, Gerighty also mentioned the protagonist’s position: “Kay is meant to be approachable, a petty thief who ends up barreling through this story, making bad decisions and centered with a lot of humor, humility, and toughness. That’s what’s important to me. And she’s beautiful, come on.”

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024, on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Playing Video Games is the very first hobby that I partake in and it became my favorite hobby. Played Unreal Tournament 2004 as my first game which made me a fan of FPS Games. Story and Adventure Games are still my Cup of Tea to go with as they give more detailing to the described worlds and characters. I love to help out my fellow gamers across all over the world by making my publications.
