After completing the For Whom the Bell Tolls quest, you will be free to roam the castle however you like. The first thing that you want to do is to speak with the Scribe regarding the book. He will mention that a Nobleman named Nikvard borrowed the book from him. Now, finding Nikvard is a difficult task itself because nobody has seen him in a while.

To gather the clues on Nikvard, speak with the following NPCs.

• Cook Bertha: She will not reveal the secret of Nikvard unless you pass the skill check or pay her 200 Groschen.
• Maid Regina: Speaking with her will give you a note from Nikvard which you will read to Regina.
• Stableboy Hersh: He will ask you to bring him a sword first so that he can confirm that you are not a spy. After that, he will reveal the last known location of Nikvard.

Where to Find the Book for Miller in KCD2

After gathering information regarding Nikvard, a location will appear on the map. The location is just outside the castle wall on the west side. To reach this location, exit from the north gate of the castle and go along the castle wall to the left. You will see a guard staring down a dead body. That dead person will be Nikvard.

However, he will not have the book on his body. Instead, go around the corner and you will find the book on the ground covered in excrement. After finding the book for Miller, fast travel to the Lower Semine to meet with Miller and end the quest.
