Windrose: Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest Quest Walkthrough
This is the complete walkthrough to the Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest, an early side quest in Windrose.
Checking out the Points of Interest in Windrose is crucial to finding useful resources, currency, gear items, and even quests. The side quests reward handsomely in Windrose, especially in the early game. It is a no-brainer to complete these quests for extra crucial resources. One of the early and probably confusing side quests that you can get is the “Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest” in the Coastal Jungle biome. Despite the quest telling you to find a chest in a marked location on the map, getting it can be tricky if you don’t know how to do it. This is the complete walkthrough for the Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest quest in Windrose.
Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest Quest Walkthrough – Windrose
The Fifteen Men on a Dead Man’s Chest quest starts automatically by picking up the “Blurry Sketch Of The Island” note from the shipwreck on the eastern coast of the island. It has a magnifying glass icon, so pretty hard to miss. As the quest starts, a blue icon for a treasure chest will appear on the map. All you have to do is go to the location and loot the treasure chest to complete the quest.

However, what the game does not tell you here is that you need a Shovel (tool) to dig up the treasure chest. You cannot get to the chest without the shovel. Fortunately, you can craft the Shovel at the workbench (Level 1) using 3x Copper Ingot and 10x Wood.
Head to the Chest Location

Once you have a shovel at your disposal, head to the blue marker location on the island. It is northwest of the shipwreck from where the quest began.
Dig the Ground for the Chest

After reaching the chest location, you will spot four skeletons on the ground forming a square. You need to stand in the middle of the skeletons and dig the ground. Equip the Shovel from the hot tab and press Z or X to switch it to “Dig” action. Now, press LMB to dig the ground and reveal the chest.
Take out the Undead

As you interact with the chest and proceed through the dialogues, four undead creatures, Drowned, will spawn. It is best to back off initially and eat at least two different food items to get maximum health. After that, you can focus on the enemies individually to take them out. They attack slowly, so it is easy to block and dodge.
After defeating all four Drowned creatures, interact with the chest to loot the items, and the quest will conclude.
