XDefiant: How to Unlock the DedSec Faction

XDefiant offers several playable characters distributed over five different Factions based on the different games from Ubisoft. Out of the five factions, there are four available factions readily available for players to select their character from to start playing the matches, but one faction (DedSec, from Watch Dogs 2) will be locked and will require players to unlock it first before they can select the character and play as a DedSec.

This guide will provide you with information on how to unlock the DedSec Faction in XDefiant.

How to Unlock the DedSec Faction in XDefiant

Unlocking the DedSec Faction can be done in two different ways: paying with real money or playing the game to earn 700,000 XP.

The first method requires you to use the 1,000 XDefiant Coins (Premium Currency) to unlock the DedSec Faction. It will cost you a total of $10 to get 1,000 XDefiant Coins and then you can simply head to the Factions tab and select the DedSec Faction to unlock it.

For the free method, you will have to complete the DedSec Challenge which requires 700,000 XP. You can find the Challenge in the Challenges tab in the main menu of the game and you can also track it among the other daily and weapons challenges when you are queuing up.

Getting 700,000 XP is a grinding process and it will take you over at least 25 hours of gameplay even if you are getting Player of the Match continuously. However, in this process, you don’t have to worry about anything just play the game in general and soon you will complete the challenge allowing you to finally access the character from the DedSec Faction.

All Abilities of the DedSec Faction in XDefiant

The DedSec Faction is mainly from the Watch Dogs 2 game and similar to other factions, it comes with four abilities in total. DedSec is mainly a faction of countering the abilities of opposing factions and it helps greatly in overpowering the enemies.

1. Lockout (Ultra) – Prevent enemies from using their Ability & Ultra in an area of effect.
2. Hijack – Hack enemy-deployed abilities and make them your own.
3. Spiderbot – Deploy a Spiderbot that will target and stun the nearest foe via facehug.
4. Fabricator – After a device is deployed, the Fabricator prints a new one.
