The upcoming Royal Highlands Expansion in Palia is set to go live tomorrow (May 12, 2026) at 10 AM (PT). Similar to other content updates, the expansion update will go live after a Downtime. However, the Palia Royal Highlands Expansion Downtime will be a big one, and it starts today at 10 AM (PT). It is a 24-hour-long Downtime, so it is advised that players complete any quests that they have left and tend to the crops. During the Downtime, Palia will be temporarily unavailable on all platforms as the developers set everything up for the Royal Highlands expansion.

Palia Royal Highlands Expansion Update

Palia’s Royal Highlands expansion is one of the highly anticipated updates. It is the biggest Palia update yet, and it will include a whole new map zone to explore. Moreover, it will continue the main story of Palia in the new magical zone. Players will meet and befriend a new villager and solve the mysteries of Amber Echo. Furthermore, mounts will be arriving for the first time in Palia. For the initial mount, players will get a horse. As players get their first horse, they will be able to ride it across Royal Highlands and the other zones. Players will be able to name, feed, and pet their own horses. Moreover, they can also breed the horses for unique traits at the ranch.

The Royal Highlands region includes unique materials, minerals, fish, creatures, bugs, and more. Royal Highlands is an ancient place lost to time, with wide open spaces, ancient human ruins, and golden grasses. It is designed with care and love, which you get to explore thoroughly on foot or on the back of your horse.

In addition to the Royal Highlands adventure zone, there will be several new additions coming in the patch. One of the crucial additions will be the Jadium Storage, the next tier of Storage. A new Lunar Path, Path of the Pony, arrives with the expansion. As you progress through the path, you will unlock the ability to raise the levels of a building. Moreover, a new housing line, the Ancient Human Home Line, seems to be the most elegant one yet. Last but not least, the Clothing Dyewill finally arrive with the Royal Highlands expansion.
