subnautica 2 how to get lithium

Lithium is one of the mid-game crucial resources that you will have to gather to make Plasteel Ingots and a Portable Oxygen Generator. Plasteel Ingot is an essential material for crafting the High Capacity Air Tank. If you wish to get a bigger tank, Lithium is the first step towards it. However, getting Lithium is not as straightforward as it sounds. There is plenty of pre-work that you have to do before you can swim to the deposits to get Lithium. In this guide, we will tell you how to get Lithium and the best spots to farm it.

Where to Find Lithium in Subnautica 2

Lithium mineral deposits spawn in the warm waters, specifically in the Graveyard biome of the Coral Gardens region. As you swim into these waters, you will receive a notification of rising heat levels, meaning that traversing this area without the Heat Tolerance Adaptation is unwise. Pursuing the main story of the game will eventually bring you here, requiring you to investigate the Tadpole Pens. The area around the Tadpole Pens contains large quantities of Lithium deposits.

How to Get Lithium in Subnautica 2

Now, acquiring Lithium in Subnautica 2 is not as simple as it sounds. Lithium mainly comes from big deposits, for which you have to get the Sonic Resonator. This tool will help you break off the deposits to collect Lithium. In addition to this, if you want to farm Lithium, you must get the Heat Tolerance Adaptation from the Anemone Hills biome. Moreover, I highly recommend using the Tadpole Vehicle, as you would have to go quite deep to look for Lithium. Lastly, keep an Air Bladder with you to quickly ascend if you are running out of oxygen.

Early Location for Lithium in Subnautica 2

In addition to the main biome where you can find Lithium in large quantities, there is one Lithium spot in the first biome. From the Lifepod, head to the South, Southwest direction (between 195 and 210), and 80 meters down to come across a wreckage. There will be one Lithium in a small clam on a piece of wreckage. And if you swim a bit ahead, you will spot a giant clam, mouth open. Head inside its mouth to spot a bunch of lithium pieces and Lithium Deposits inside. You can pick up the Lithium pieces as they are, but you need to use the Sonic Resonator to break the deposits.

Now, the dangerous part of this location is that if you touch the red tendon, it will make the clam close its mouth, releasing poisonous gas that will deal damage to you. You have to be careful going inside and taking all the lithium. If you trigger the clam, run straight outside of its mouth to be safe. Moreover, you can bring healing with you, so that you can heal even if you get trapped inside. The clam re-opens its mouth after a few moments.

How to Farm Lithium in Subnautica 2

To farm Lithium in Subnautica 2, you have to go to the Graveyard biome, because it has lithium in larger quantities. You can find a bunch of deposits near the Tadpole Pens. However, you have to come prepared for the run. I highly recommend that you pursue the main story first to learn the biome and areas better. After that, you can often go there to look for any lithium deposits.

Playing Video Games is the very first hobby that I partake in and it became my favorite hobby. Played Unreal Tournament 2004 as my first game which made me a fan of FPS Games. Story and Adventure Games are still my Cup of Tea to go with as they give more detailing to the described worlds and characters. I love to help out my fellow gamers across all over the world by making my publications.
