The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time: Where to Find Talon & Wake Him Up

After completing the Great Deku Tree, you have to go to Hyrule Castle to speak with Princess Zelda. Before getting inside the castle, you will meet a girl named Malon outside the castle gate. She will mention that her father is sleeping somewhere inside the castle. As you have to get inside the castle, you have to wake up Talon to get him back to his daughter and clear out the way inside the castle. In this guide, we will explain where to find Talon and wake him up.

Speak with Malon Outside the Castle

Once you have reached outside Hyrule Castle, go over to the barn wagon in the pathway and speak with Malon. She will give you a weird egg, a key item you use later.

Where to Find Talon

After speaking with Malon, go to the vines behind Malon to climb up. Follow the path to the left and climb the vines ahead to get on top of the gate. Go down the ladder to get across the castle gate. Now, follow the path ahead and turn left into the garden.

There will be several guards roaming around the garden. Avoid the guards by sneaking through the garden. If a guard catches you, he will throw you out of the castle. Make your way across the garden and go to the right to find more vines.

Climb up the vines and go down to the water. Swim across the water to the other side. Turn left and go to the end to find Talon sleeping near the boxes.

How to Wake Up Talon

At this point, the weird egg that Malon gave you should have hatched. Open the inventory to look for the egg. You will probably find a Cucco in the inventory. Equip the Cucco and use it to wake up Talon.

After waking up Talon, he will hurry to his daughter outside the castle. This clear the way to the passage across. Now, you can move the boxes to Talon’s sleeping position and jump across to get inside the castle.
