A gamer attempts to assassinate the developer of Genshin Impact, over content not available in China

A gamer attempts to assassinate the developer of Genshin Impact, over content not available in China.

First of all, no kidding, it happened two days ago and the suspect was planning to stab the two founders of miHoYo and then commit suicide. Without information on how, he managed to sneak into the company premises carrying a knife, but luckily he was arrested on time and no one was injured; the reason for everything was for some content but in another game.

Recently, miHoYo introduced a series of bunny skins for Honkai Impact, another of their titles, something purely decorative. But there was something different in its launch, it was only available for titles outside of China since in the country itself it was still very scarce; in short, the Chinese servers hadn’t released it yet.

But there is something else in all this, apparently the detainee – like so many others – did not believe that this content was appropriate for the game; least of all a launch outside of China. As he did not want his favorite characters in the game to dance and/or do things dressed like that, he hurt his feelings towards them and waited for the opportunity to travel to Shanghai.

According to reports from Sohu, he wanted to kill the two founders, Liu and Cai, and then commit suicide by jumping from the building. Through a temporary residence, he was able to find out their addresses, identities, and photos bought two fairly specific knives, and planned everything. As we said, luckily the man was arrested on the spot at the miHoYo business park.

On April 22, miHoYo itself also apologized for this saying that ” the activity of the game was inappropriate “, they had mistakenly decided the established role. After this, they claimed that nothing similar would appear in the future.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
