AC: New Horizons player receives IN-GAME mail from the Police about her friend’s lost Switch

Video games saw a major increase in interactivity and overall cultural importance throughout the COVID-19 lockdown. One of the games to see a boost in its popularity was “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” which captured the imaginations of gamers around the world as they created their own utopias amidst a challenging and unstable world.

An interesting piece of news about Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the police has surfaced in Taiwan.

According to a CTS report, a Taiwanese man called Mr. Jheng misplaced his Nintendo Switch at a local ATM. The Nintendo Switch was later found by a passerby and turned in to the police

As the police were unsure who the console’s owner is, the police officer who was in charge of the Switch then learned about the in-game mail system in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and used it to send a message to the console owner’s friend (translated by Chinese Nintendo):

“Hello. This is the police station at East Helping Rd, Daan branch, Taipei City. The Switch has been parted from its owner and was turned in. We do not have other means to contact the owner, so please help us and reach out on our behalf so they can recover it.”

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
