After a free campaign: Fans are increasingly demanding a PS5 patch for Horizon Zero Dawn

From April 20 to May 14, 2021, the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be available for free download from the PS Store. Many fans are of course happy about it. But there is also increasing dissatisfaction. On Twitter, fans have repeatedly requested the PS5 patch, which has not yet been released, under the announcement from developer Guerrilla Games.

That’s what it’s all about: “Do the right thing. Give us the 60fps patch.”, Writes one user. Others speculate that a PS5 patch might come, but not for nothing: “I’d bet money that [the game] would get a PS5 upgrade so they could pack it into a Collectors Edition for Horizon 2.”

That probably alludes to the remastered version of Insomniac’s Spider-Man. This got a PS5 upgrade for its graphics and performance, including 60fps on the PS5, but was only included in the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Fans who wanted to enjoy the game in 60fps had to spend more money for it.

Has Sony commented on the PS5 upgrade for Horizon Zero Dawn?

No . According to Sony, there is no information about a planned PS5 patch so far.

While other PlayStation exclusives like God of War have already been equipped with a PS5 upgrade, Horizon Zero Dawn joins the Naughty Dog hit The Last of Us Part 2 , for which fans are also loudly calling for an upgrade.

Fans cannot transfer their saved games

Some fans seem to have a completely different problem with the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition. You cannot transfer the saved games from your standard version to the complete edition.

“How can it be that I played Horizon Zero Dawn on Platinum and today I want to do the Complete Edition with the DLC, but I can’t transfer the score?” Asks a fan. Other players also seem to have this problem to have, but not all are affected. Others could easily start the Complete Edition and load their saved game.

According to the Guerrilla Games FAQs, saved games from the Standard Edition should be compatible with the Complete Edition on PS4, but only if both games are from the same region.

Horizon 2: Forbidden West should come later this year

With Horizon 2: Forbidden West, the successor to Zero Dawn is in the works. The game will be released exclusively for PS4 and PS5. Although there is no specific release date yet, despite rumors that the game could be postponed to 2022 , Sony is still expecting a release at the end of 2021 .
