Arc Raiders: How to Unlock the Outpost

Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update brings a lot of new features that allow players to build modules, research advanced gear, and amplify weapons. All of these new functionalities are possible through a new topside player base, Outpost. The Outpost is a new base-building feature where players can decorate and research gear. This is the end-game gear advancement and is crucial for any players who want to get more out of their weapons. In this guide, we will explain how to unlock the Outpost in Arc Raiders.

How to Unlock the Outpost in Arc Raiders

The Outpost feature becomes available at Level 18, and then you can start the Sheltered Retreat Project to build it. The Sheltered Retreat Project has three stages, each one with different requirements. Once you have accepted the project, you can start completing the stages, starting with Stage 1.

Sheltered Retreat Project – Stage 1

For the first stage, you need to take a photo of a house near the Ruined Homestead on the Blue Gate map. Bring a camera with you on the raid to the Blue Gate and head to the Ruined Homestead near the Olive Grove, south of the map.

NOTE: You can get the Camera from Shani.

Once you are at the Ruined Homestead, go in front of any house, equip the camera, and take a photo. This will complete the objective. Now, return to Speranza and go to the Outpost menu to complete Stage 1.

Sheltered Retreat Project – Stage 2

The next stage requires you to deliver the following materials.

• 3x Planks
• 5x Sheetmetal
• 10x Arc Alloy
• 3x Advanced Electrical Components

You can find the planks easily in the residential areas on several maps. For the Sheetmetal and Advanced Electrical Components, search the technological and electrical areas on the maps. Lastly, for Arc Alloys, you get them from any Arc enemy.

Once you have obtained all the materials, go to the Outpost menu and contribute the items to complete Stage 2.

• Reward: Red Light Stick Blueprint

Sheltered Retreat Project – Stage 3

For the final stage, you need to deal 800 damage to flying ARC enemies and 300 damage to Bully. To tackle this objective quickly, go to Pendola Pass (new map) with a Heavy Ammo weapon. Anvil or Bettina are the best options. After starting the raid, take out any regular flying ARC enemy you see to tackle the first part of the objective. Once that is done, head towards the northern side of the map to find the Bully. Bully is a new aggressive ARC. Your best bet to deal damage to it is through a tight window from which you can shoot and take cover.  

After dealing enough damage, the objective will be completed. Now, return to Speranza and navigate to the Outpost menu to complete Stage 3.

• Reward: Decorative Chair, 15x Planks, and 5x Durable Cloth

This will start a brief cutscene, and the Outpost will be unlocked for you. You can build the Research Workstation at the outpost, which lets you craft blueprints, design furniture, and amplify weapons. Moreover, you can decorate your outpost with furniture items.
