Baldur's Gate III: Best Class for Beginners

Baldur’s Gate is an immense Action Strategy MMORPG set on Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Rules. There are various aspects of the game that it offers to the players and one of the main ones is selecting a Class to play and delve into the story. Players who are familiar with BG 3 from early access might have an idea of which class to play in the early game and when to change it. As classes are not like races, players have the option to change and respec the class whenever they want in the game. However, for beginners who are new to Baldur’s Gate immersive universe, they might have a hard time figuring out what class to go with and what sub-class to choose.

In this guide, we’ll be telling you the Best Class for Beginners which is easy to understand and not much challenging in Baldur’s Gate III.

Best Class for Beginners in Baldur’s Gate III

There are 12 classes in total each with multiple sub-classes from which players can choose the one for their playthrough.

As mentioned earlier, the Classes are changeable after players have reached a certain point in the game. Players can change their currently equipped class with another class and respec the Ability Points in the new class to have the same stat as the previous class. It is a great feature of the game and allows players to have more versatility in the playthrough with various classes. However, choosing the class at the start matters the most as all of the basics of combat and skill usage of class are learned at the beginning. Players must select a class that they are more comfortable with and later on they can change the class if they feel like it.

Why Beginners Should Pick Barbarian as a Starting Class

We would recommend picking up Barbarian as a Starting Class for Beginners because it has the highest starting HP and Hit Point gain per level in the game. It is the most straightforward class in the game and it can use any type of weapon. Whereas, the other classes can only use the weapons for which they have the respective skills. Barbarian has a special ability named Rage which makes it stronger and allows it to deal more damage and take less damage. Players can use the Rage ability whenever it charges and it will allow them to take out enemies in a single turn of the fight at the start of the game.

As players progress in the game, they will gain another ability which will allow Barbarian to have an extra attack per turn which allows players to clear out enemies more quickly. They would not have to worry about which spell to cast or which vial to consume to get buff. An extra attack with Rage ability would be enough to take out several enemies per turn.

We think it is the best class for beginners who don’t understand the complexity of spells and support attacks. Picking up the Barbarian with either Berserker or Wild Heart will do absolutely fine in the game for the players. Choosing the Wild Heart will also allow players to select a Beast Heart from five different options. Each of the beast’s hearts has its own actions and the best one for damage is Tiger one. Choosing the Tiger Beast Heart will enhance the damage of the barbarian even further and allow players to deal immense damage to the enemies.
