Cyberpunk 2077 performs better on Steam, game's reception improves

The PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 debuted strongly, but then it was only worse. CD Projekt RED has spent months working on patches and it seems that it has finally started to pay off and the game is slowly regaining the sympathy of the players.

This is best illustrated by player ratings on Steam. For several weeks, the share of positive notes issued in the last 30 days has been growing successively. Currently, it is 68%, so only 2% are missing for the site to describe the reception of CP2077 in this category as positive, instead of “mixed”. In the months after the premiere, this result was gradually declining. On March 1 it went below 70% and then continued downhill. Among the user reviews posted in the third month of this year, only 59% were positive.

Patch 1.2 seems to be groundbreaking, and remains the biggest patch so far. Even after its installation, the game leaves a lot to be desired, but the positive change is clear and this was reflected in the reception of the game. In April, 67% of Steam users expressed a positive opinion about Cyberpunk 2077 . Today the result for the last 30 days is 68%, so the game is slowly moving up.

It also seems that the ebb of players has been stopped. From the day of the premiere, the activity results have been declining rapidly, but in recent weeks they have started to stabilize. Last Sunday, at the hottest moment of the day, 17,908 players had fun on Steam at Cyberpunk 2077 at the same time, which is practically the same as the week before.

The game will never return to the records from the premiere when over a million people could play it at once, but stopping the downward trend is good news for the developers, especially considering the fact that it is a product without a multiplayer.

CD Projekt RED still has a lot of work to do before Cyberpunk 2077 reaches a fully satisfactory quality. It seems, however, that the effort put into fixing the game has finally started to pay off, and the worst of the creators is probably behind them. It remains to be hoped that the repair process will continue and in some time CP2077 will finally become the production that players expected.

Recall that Cyberpunk 2077 was released December 10, 2020 year for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stages. The game debuted in terrible technical condition, so from the day of release, we receive new patches quite regularly. The developers have recently assured us that they will not abandon this game, so we can count on many more updates.
