In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock fishing in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle.
How to Unlock Fishing in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle

The fishing feature becomes available after unlocking the Fishing Rod. It is one of the new tools for Dave that he can earn by helping out a fellow villager. You need to find and speak with Basu. He lives on the edge of Utara Lake, east of Dave’s cabin. Go over to his house to speak with Basu and ask him what he likes. He will ask you to bring him a Piraiba Catfish. Although he does not mention the reward in return, it is the Fishing Rod.
Where to find Piraiba Catfish in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle

Before you dive into the lake, make sure to bring an extra oxygen tank and some ammo for the Jungle Gun. You need to head down to the lower layer of Utara Lake between 35 and 75 meters. While you are diving down, keep going to the right. Once you are in the correct depth, slowly swim to the right and wait for the Piraiba Catfish to come out. It is a big, dark gray fish with a white underbelly.
Piraiba Catfish is aggressive and tries to swallow you after getting close to you. You need to keep moving in circles and hit it using the Sniper Rifle. If it gets close, switch to the Shotgun for high damage. Keep circling around and deal damage to the fish until it dies. Now, go over to the fish and use the Salvage Drone to take the fish away. Alternatively, you can use the knife to cut the meat.
Bring Piraiba Catfish to Basu

Now, go back to the surface and head into the village. Speak with Basu and give him the Piraiba Catfish. Tell him that you caught the Piraiba Catfish, and he will give you the Fishing Rod.
After acquiring the fishing rod, you can use it in the waterbeds around the jungle to catch various fish. These fish do not spawn in Utara Lake, and fishing has its own list of fish. If you want to catch all the fish, head to Surga Falls and Setah Forest areas.
