Diablo IV: How to Unlock New Skills and Abilities

The Skill Mechanic of Diablo IV is one of the best ones out there in any action role-playing game. There are numerous skills and abilities that players will get to unlock for their character to test out the new and powerful builds. As players can create up to 10 characters using the classes, they can test out different builds for each character using the skill tree of Diablo IV. How to Unlock New Skills and Abilities in Diablo IV

All the characters will start with 1 basic ability of their respective class and in order to unlock more slots of the skills and abilities, players will have to level up their characters. On each level up, you will gain a Skill Point that you can use to unlock a skill/ability from the Skill Tree. In order to access the Skill Tree, you need to press the Options Button (PlayStation 5) and then switch to the Abilities Tab. Now, select the ability you want to unlock for your character and you will be able to assign it to the unlocked slot on the bottom left of your screen.

NOTE: If your Skill Slot is not unlocked, you cannot assign the learned ability. The newly learned ability has to be assigned to the Slot in order to use it. Players will have to manually assign the ability to the slot to use it.

It will not take long for the players to unlock all 6 Skill Slots. Players will unlock the 2nd Skill Slot at Level 4 which can be done pretty early in the game and once players have reached Level 8, all 6 Skill Slots will be unlocked and players would be able to assign all of the learned abilities to the slots to use them.

The Skill Tree in Diablo IV offers a wide range of abilities for each build type. As the classes do not have their own default role type, players will have to set their roles manually by building them for a specific role. As an example, if a player wants to build Necromancer a Support Type, the player would have to gain skill points to unlock the support abilities and then assign them to the Skill Slots.

Players can also choose to Respec their skill points to unlock other abilities that they have overlooked to create a new build for their character.
