Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Final Trial Quest – Walkthrough

After making progress in the game and unlocking new areas and increasing the friendship level to 10 with Merlin, you’ll get a quest named “The Final Trial” in which Merlin will fully upgrade your Watering Can.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to complete The Final Trial quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The Final Trial Quest

The first objective of the quest will be to craft a 5x Purified Night Shard. In order to craft a Purified Night Shard, you’ll need 5x Night Shard and 1x Dream Shard. For the quest, we are required to craft 5 Purified Night Shards so, you’ll be needing 25x Night Shard and 5x Dream Shard. Night Shards can be collected by digging on the shiny spot on the ground. So, make sure to collect them and then craft the Purified Night Shards on any Crafting Station. Purified Night Shard is under the Potion & Enchantments category.

After making the Purified Night Shards, you’ll need to go to Wall-E. Find Wall-E and go to him and give him the shards. He’ll crush them for you and then you’ll need to go and talk to Merlin. After talking to Merlin, he will give you a seed named “Ice Tear Seed” which will be used to get the Ice Heart.

Merlin will tell us to gather 1x Falling Water, 1x Ice Heart, and 25x Mushroom. Falling Water and Mushrooms can be gathered from the Glade of trust area. Mushrooms can be found in that area very easily or you can also water the purple mushrooms to collect extra mushrooms. If you go to the South side of the area, you’ll reach a waterfall where you can find the Falling Water. Interact with the Waterfall and a shining item will drop from the waterfall. Collect the item to get the Falling Water.

After that, you’ll need to go to Frosted Heights. Frosted Heights cost 10,000 Dreamlight to be unlocked and you can only unlock it if you have unlocked the Forest of Valor. After unlocking the Frosted Heights biome, you’ll need to dig the whole on the frozen ground and plant the “Ice Tear Seed”. After planting it, equip the Watering Can and water the seed, and wait for a few moments until it grows. Harvest the grown seed and when you look into your inventory, it’ll be the Ice Heart.

After getting all the items, you’ll have to craft the Enchantment named “Royal Watering Can Upgrading Ointment”. Go to any Crafting Station and upgrade the Enchantment and then return to Merlin. Give the Enchantment to Merlin and he’ll upgrade your Watering Can.

After that, you need to remove the Big Path-Blocking Mushrooms and then report back to Merlin to complete the Quest.
