Doom Eternal can be played at 1000 FPS
The lead programmer of the Doom Eternal engine, Billy Kahn, came to IGN and told what the new part of the franchise is capable of in technical terms.
The last Doom ran on the id Tech 6 engine and supported a maximum of 250 frames per second. Its updated version of id Tech 7 is capable of overclocking up to 1000 frames. Of course, this will require a very, very powerful system.
What the programmer says:
And this is not the limit. On the test hardware, we had 400 FPS in scenes. So for people with monitors in 144hz and even better , this game will last for many years.
In the meantime, you can see how the game looks at a good FPS.
Doom Eternal will be released on March 20 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Later on, the game will appear on the Switch.
