Mick Gordon talks about recording the DOOM Eternal soundtrack with a heavy metal choir

Bethesda has released the DOOM Eternal developers diary, which will probably be of interest to absolutely everyone – it is dedicated to recording the soundtrack of a shooter with the help of an “amateur” heavy metal choir.

The music was recorded in Austin, Texas, and the whole ensemble consists of 22 people – some of them have a great experience, as they performed and perform in groups like Static X, Wildspeaker, The Anchor, The World I Knew, Aborted and Ministry.

The composer of the game music, Mick Gordon, notes that the choir turned out to be very mottled – with different types of metal, even Mongolian!

With the restart of DOOM in 2016, the soundtrack became an integral part of the franchise due to the amazing work of Gordon. No one doubts that even more incredible music awaits us in the sequel – after all, a heavy metal choir!

DOOM Eternal will be released on March 20 for PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC. Later, the release will take place on the Nintendo Switch.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
