The Wretch class is the most lacking class of this game as it begins from the soul level of 1. All the other stats of the class are up to 10. So basically, this is the character that you can turn into any build character.
Now after selecting a wretch as your character choose Golden Seed as your keepsake because you get an extra flask.
For the starting weapon, you only start with Club which is a wooden hammer in the game and it scales with strength.
Upgrading attributes for this character will vary on which type of build you want to make. You can make any build for this character such as faith build, strength build, bleed build, etc. The build we are going for is the strength build.
Strength is the key here with a little bit of Dexterity if you want to equip some of the different weapons but Strength is the focus, and then Vigor and Endurance as your two secondary stats. Vigor is obviously for your health so you can tank some of the hits but endurance will be really beneficial for you. You’ll increase your equipped load so you won’t be heavy rolling when you equip some of the heavier weapons as well as the heavier armor. It’ll also increase your stamina and because we want to be tanking that damage into our stamina rather than our health. Having a high amount of stamina is beneficial also to help you dodge some attacks if you are blocking and you want to actually initiate a dodge to really get away from something you want to have initial stamina so you can do that.
The primary weapon is Bloodhound Fang, it is extremely overpowered just because of its one ability. Which allows you to dodge backward while attacking and then go back in and attack at the same time. While you doing this in between those stages when you’re attacking you actually get invincibility frames, when you dodge backward and when you dodge back in. It is a very big advantage, especially on bosses who have that one big slam move. If you time this right you can deal so much damage without the boss even being able to do anything back. It also does a blood loss effect so it is a very strong weapon.
Location of Bloodhound’s Fang
You can get this sword by defeating a boss at this location.
The other weapon that you can switch to is actually a curved sword, now any curved sword can really do as long as it has a slot for an Ash of War. Because it’s not the curved sword that will do good for you but actually the Ash of War that you can put on it. You can also put that Ash of War on to other weapons as long swords but that is up to you which weapon you want to choose. The ash of war we are going to put on it is the Bloody Slash.
Location of Ash or war: Bloody Slash
You can find it in Fort Haight. It will be dropped by a knight.
The shield you want to use is the Erdtree Greatshield which has great resistance against physical damage. It also has a unique skill of Golden Retaliation that readies the shield momentarily to dispels sorceries and incantations.
You can find this ship near the Lyndell Capital at the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace. Run to the west and you’ll encounter two tree sentinels, defeat them and you’ll get this shield.
The armor set that you want to wear is the Bull-Goat. It offers an incredible amount of physical damage negation and it also gives you the highest amount of poise possible.
The talismans for this build are the following.
- Great-Jar’s Arsenal: This is one of the most important items in this build because it doesn’t let us go overloaded. We have the colossal weapons and heavier armor on so, this talisman is very important to wear.
- Bull-Goat’s Talisman: This talisman is to increase poise.
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: This will boost our high physical damage negation.
- Shard of Alexander: It is dependent on your Ash of War skill that is on your weapons and it will increase their attack.
- These talismans work greatly as a combo for the strength build.
The Physick flask tears that you want to equip are the following.
- Winged Crystal Tear: It temporarily reduces the equipment load. It stays for three minutes and no matter heavy you are, you’ll become lightweight meaning you can do light rolling and move quickly.
- Strength-Knot Crystal Tear: It temporarily boosts your strength which gives you more advantage.
That is all for this build, as this is the Strength build so, you don’t actually need incantations for it.
