Elden Ring: Best Hero Build

The Hero character’s main stat is Strength, the soul level is 7, the Vigor of 14, and the Endurance of 12. So, basically how this works is you’ve got a good amount of health and you can wield bigger weapons due to decent strength and dexterity. You also start with pretty decent stamina which is really good.

You also have a quality Arcane of 11. Now after selecting the hero as your character choose Golden Seed as your keepsake because you get an extra flask.
Now the weapons you start with are a Battle Axe, a Large Leather Shield, and a Champion Armor set. The Battle Axe is pretty decent as a starting weapon as you can wield larger weapons as a Hero character, it will be very useful for you. The Large Leather Shield is not that good as you want to replace it with a shield that has 100 physical resistance. The Champion armor is not for tanking attacks so, you have to be careful about the hits that you take. Your character has pretty good stamina so you will be able to dodge or block the attacks of the enemies rather than tanking them.

Upgrading Attributes
So, to upgrade the stats of the hero you mainly want to focus on the Strength as we’re going to use strength scaling weapons. You want to have a higher strength to deal the maximum amount of damage. Endurance and Vigor will be your secondary stats, endurance to increase your equip load because we are going to be using heavier weapons and heavier armor as well as vigor to increase your overall health. Then you would also want to put some points in the dexterity as well because the weapons would require dexterity points as well.

We will be building a pure Strength build for the hero as he has the most strength in any class so, this would be best for this character.
Weapons
For the primary weapon, you need a colossal sword. You can use any colossal sword but one of the best colossal swords that you’d find in the game is Heavy Greatsword. This weapon has the best scaling for strength and does great damage in close combat. Another reason for this weapon to select is that you can place different Ashes of War on it which makes it more viable. The other weapon that you can use as a primary weapon with a great scaling for strength is Grafted Blade Greatsword. But you’ll lose the Ash of War placement on it.

Location
You can find this weapon in the trunk of the enemy buggy. This buggy will be near the Smoldering Wall site of grace in Caelid region.

Shield
The shield you want to use is the Erdtree Greatshield which has great resistance against physical damage. It also has a unique skill of Golden Retaliation that readies the shield momentarily to dispel sorceries and incantations.

Location
You can find this ship near the Lyndell Capital at the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace. Run to the west and you’ll encounter two tree sentinels, defeat and you’ll get this shield.

Armor
The armor set that you want to wear is the Bull-Goat. It offers an incredible amount of physical damage negation and it also gives you the highest amount of poise possible.

Talismans
The talismans for this build are the following.

- Great-Jar’s Arsenal: This is one of the most important items in this build because it doesn’t let us go overloaded. We have the colossal weapons and heavier armor on so, this talisman is very important to wear.
- Bull-Goat’s Talisman: This talisman is to increase poise.
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: This will boost our high physical damage negation.
- Shard of Alexander: It is dependent on your Ash of War skill that is on your weapons and it will increase their attack.
These talismans work greatly as a combo for the strength build.
Physick Flask
The Physick flask tears that you want to equip are the following.

- Winged Crystal Tear: It temporarily reduces the equipment load. It stays for three minutes and no matter heavy you are, you’ll become lightweight meaning you can do light rolling and move quickly.
- Strength-Knot Crystal Tear: It temporarily boosts your strength which gives you more advantage.
