Elden Ring: Best Methods to defeat Commander Niall

Commander Niall is an optional boss in the Elden Ring but to access the Haligtree side you have to face this boss. The commander Niall is in Castle Sol which is on the Mountaintop of the Giants area.

There are many ways to kill this boss but if you want to kill this easily without taking much damage or wasting your crimson tears, there are two methods to kill this boss very easily. You can choose whatever method you like the most.

Method 1

When you face Commander Niall, he will summon two Knight Ashes alongside him in the first phase making it harder to defeat him but there is a way to turn those Ashes against him.

Preparation

In order to do that you need Bewitching Branch and you can turn the ash against its summoner.

Now you need two Bewitching Branches and you can buy them from the merchant coast of Bellum church near the lakes. The cost of one Bewitching Branch is 1600 runes.

Phase-1

Now you are ready to face Commander Niall just travel to the Church of the Eclipse grace in Castle Sol. Through in the church go left and up the stair ignore the enemies and go out of the room and look in front upon the stairs you’ll see the Boss fight place. Go in the place and be ready with your Bewitching Branch. Commander Niall will summon the two knights and they will charge you one by one as soon as they are summoned. When one knight gets just use the Bewitching Branch on him and then use it on the other knight. They both will turn against Commander Niall and they will fight the Niall for you.

Phase-2

While Commander Niall fights them during the first phase you can keep your distance and attack him from the range with a weapon of your choice. When his health gets to half they will automatically be unsummoned and the second phase of Commander Niall will begin. He will attack you with some lightning attacks while jumping towards you. The tip for the second phase is to just keep a distance from the Niall and he will do the attack where he’ll stomp his electric leg into the ground and jump towards you. You can easily avoid it just by rolling before he lands. You’ll then want to hold forward and sprint so you can run around his follow-up attack, leaving him open to a single strike for a weapon of your choice. You’ll always avoid his follow-up attack if you hold forward and sprint after you dodged him. You only want to hit him once and then run away. Doing this will mean you’ll avoid anything he does after hitting him. The other move that he will do is where he’ll summon a cloud of frost and rush towards you. When he rushes at you just roll out of the way of his attack the same way as you do with the jump attack then hit him once and run away again. Using this technique means we will hit him safely every time. You can hit him with ranged weapons while you are far from him but be careful from his attacks you have to time the dodge for his attacks. You don’t have to be greedy for the attacks if you’ll hit him two times while you avoid his follow-up attack then he can catch you just hit him once and run away. He’ll be dead even before you know it.

Method 2

If you want to kill him more quickly without hitting him only once and waiting for his attack to dodge then you can use sorcery on him. One of the most powerful sorcery in the game is Comet Azur.

The requirement to use this spell is astonishing but if you have that attributes then why not use this technique. It costs 40 FP to cast and you can only cast it if you have an intelligence of 60.

Now to get this sorcery you just have to talk to the sorcerer and he will give it to you for free. The sorcerer’s name is Azur and he is not much of a speaker but when you talk to him for the first time he will give you this sorcerery.

His location is near Mount Gelmir and you can reach him without taking any fight with anyone and go straight to this site of grace. He is sitting right behind the site of grace just go talk to him and get the reward for free.

Now if you have this just teleport to the Church of the Eclipse grace and go to Commander Niall and just spam him with this sorcery. It will kill him very fast.

Phase-1

Once Commander Niall summons both of his knights they will rush towards and when they are rushing just use this spell it will hit both of them and Commander Niall as well and it will do a lot of damage and might kill both of the knights on your first attack and even do pretty good damage to Commander Niall as well.

Phase-2

As you know the attacks of Commander Niall in Phase 2 just keep your distance and use this spell once you have dodged both of his attacks the jumping and the follow-up attack. It will kill Commander Niall in the second attack if you line the attack perfectly if don’t then you can dodge his attacks again and hit him with the spell again and finish him.
