Gearbox president says PS5 and Xbox Series X make a huge leap, but we’ll see that later

"The days of consoles are numbered": PS5 and Xbox Series may be the last gaming devices from Sony and Microsoft - experts

Randy Pitchford assures that we will wait a little while to see the “deep” jump that this new generation of consoles will have.

Both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will have exclusive launch and intergenerational games on both machines. Gearbox, on the other hand, will edit one of the launch titles on PS5 and PC, Godfall. In an interview, Randy Pitchford offered his particular vision of what can be expected from the new generation of consoles.

“I’m always very excited when there’s a chance to step up to new hardware and new technology, and anything that strengthens our capabilities,” said Pitchford. “I think customers will realize what a difference it makes to have the power these platforms will give us.

Pitchford, who continued to praise the capability and power of both consoles, said: “The jump with PS5 and Xbox Series X will be the biggest I’ve seen in past generations of consoles; including from 2D to 3D. It will change the way we think about each of our experiences.

Pitchford was cautious in adding that it will be “hard to see in the release titles”, as many of them will be ports or games that will be re-imagined from the last generation to the next. But even, he said he was looking forward to the look of Borderlands 3 on the new consoles, with higher resolution and fps; just yesterday a new mode could be seen.

Godfall, a title that is developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox, will arrive on PlayStation 5, as well as on PC through Epic Games Store, next November 12th, together with Sony’s console.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
