Hard West 2: A Violent Thaw

After clearing out Boomtown from the enemies, the posse will try to find their way out of the valley.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to complete the Violent Thaw mission.

A Violent Thaw

Go to the train station and ask the conductor for a way out. The conductor will say there is currently not any way out because the eastern path is blocked. Billy will say there is always another way and end the talk with the conductor. You need to go towards the east side, come towards the south side and take a right from there and follow the path leading to the east side. You’ll reach their house Mervyn. Talk to Mervyn and ask for a way out of the Cursed Valley.

Mervyn will tell you a path that leads through the collapsed tunnel on the eastern side of the mountain. End the talk with Mervyn and come back on the path you come from and then go up on the mountain to go towards the collapsed tunnel. You’ll have everything except dynamite to clear the collapsed tunnel. You’ll find a Harmonica on the mountain as well. Go back to Mervyn and give him the Harmonica. He’ll tell you that there is a way you can get the Blue Dynamite.

You need to go to the west side and go into the Whissle Pass. When you get to the Whissle Pass you have to fight and get your hands on the dynamite to get out of the valley. Select the option to fight to start the new mission.
