Hogwarts Legacy – How to Get Stench of the Dead

Stench of the Dead

There are many different items and materials that players will gather as they explore the Wizarding World and progress through the main story of the game. As players will carry different key items in their journey to assist them in combat, they will also be required to regrow and rebrew the items. One of the key items for combat is Thunderbrew Potion but in order to brew it, you will have to get Stench of the Dead as an ingredient.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get Stench of the Dead in Hogwarts Legacy.

Getting Stench of the Dead

The Stench of the Dead can be obtained from two different methods. Both of them are totally different from each other and the easier one is to buy the Stench of the Dead. You can buy stench of the dead from J. Pippins Potions Store in Hogsmeade. You will unlock this area as you progress through the main story of the game.

Once you have unlocked it, you need to go to the Potions store to buy it from the merchant. Interact with the merchant to browse the inventory and you will see a Skull in the inventory. It is the Stench of the Dead and 1x Stench of the Dead will cost you 100 Gold Galleon. However, you will only be able to buy 5 of them at a time, and for further stock, you will have to complete a delivery side quest for the merchant.

Buying Stench of the Dead

The second way to get the Stench of the Dead is by killing the foe’s type named “Inferius”. These are the dead creatures that can be found in the graveyard areas as well as in the caves. In order to defeat these enemies, you should have either “Incendio” or “Confringo” to confront them. Without the fire spells, Inferius cannot take damage so, first strike them with the fire spell and then use your regular spell to kill them.

Each Inferius enemy will drop a number of Stench of the Dead resources. You can stack up on them by visiting the areas in which you can find them and then use the resources to brew Thunderbrew Potions for yourself.
