How to fix Forza Horizon 5 crashes and startup problems on PC

Forza Horizon 5 was released today Tuesday on Xbox consoles and PC, on Windows 10 or Windows 11 or through Game Pass. Surely you are like crazy to start burning your wheel through Mexico in one of the best car games ever made, and I hope you have not had any problems.
But if you are here, it is possible that you have problems with your PC and you cannot start the game, or it freezes. You’re probably not the only one, and Playground Games has put together a list of possible fixes if your game isn’t working properly.
How to fix Forza Horizon 5 crashes and startup problems on PC
These are the most common solutions to errors when starting Forza Horizon 5 on PC, according to its developer:
- Run the game as Administrator from Windows 10/11
- Make sure you have the latest updates on Windows 10 (access the Windows 10 Update Assistant here )
- Make sure the game is prioritized in the Task Manager
- Disable Windows Defender
- Turn off Windows Game mode
