How to Get the Black Pearl in Palia
The Black Pearl is an Epic gatherable in Palia that players can only obtain from opening the Elder Clam Mushrooms. The Elder Clam Mushroom is one of the types of mushrooms that only grows in Elderwood. Players can acquire the Elder Clam Mushrooms in two different ways: Foraging and Hunting.
The Elder Clam Mushrooms grow in the swamps of the Elderwood map zone. The Okanaa Bog and Mauvais Way areas are the best spots to search for these mushrooms. It is best to pick up as many of these mushrooms to have a high chance of getting the Black Pearl. The Hunting method requires players to hunt the Shmole creature in the cavern areas of Elderwood. This creature has a chance of randomly dropping various types of mushrooms. If you are lucky, you might get a few Elder Clam Mushrooms from hunting any type of Shmole creature.
Open the Elder Clam Mushrooms from the Inventory

After gathering a decent amount of Elder Clam Mushrooms, you can start opening them from your inventory to have a chance of getting the Black Pearl. Open the inventory and select the Elder Clam Mushroom to get the option to open it. As you open the Elder Clam Mushroom, it will either give you the Elder Clam Mushroom Meat or the Black Pearl. The drop rate of Black Pearl is very low, so it might take you numerous tries to get it. Upon getting the Black Pearl, you will earn the Elderwood Survivalist Accomplishment.
Uses of Black Pearl in Palia
The primary use of Black Pearl is that it is necessary for completing the “Home and Back Again” quest for Tamala. Other than that, players can sell the Black Pearl for 390 Gold (Basic) to Zeki or at the Shipping Bin. Last but not least, you can also gift it to certain villagers who like it or to those who need it. The needs of villagers change every week, so keep your eyes on them.
