How to Unlock and Use the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Discover how to unlock and use the new Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley, including its recipe and how much Dreamlight it costs.
The new free update, Tales of Agrabah, is now live in Disney Dreamlight Valley, bringing a wealth of new content. This update includes new story quests, a new realm, two new characters, new cosmetics, a new Star Path, and various gameplay improvements. Notably, the update enhances the cooking system, introducing a recipe search function and a new cooking station called the Slow Cooker, which allows players to prepare multiple meals at once. In this guide, we’ll explain how to unlock and use the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Unlock the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Slow Cooker is a newly introduced cooking station, available with the Tales of Agrabah update. To unlock it, players must complete the Slow and Steady quest, a new story mission for Tiana. This quest becomes available automatically after updating the game. However, if players have not unlocked Tiana in their valley, they must do so first.
During the quest, Tiana will give you the recipe for crafting the Slow Cooker. Here are all the materials that you need to craft a Slow Cooker.
- 6× Iron Ingots – Craft at the crafting station using iron ores and coal.
- 2× Tinkering Parts – Craft at the crafting station using iron ingots.
- 20× Hardwood – Found under trees in the Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, and Frosted Heights biomes.
- 2,500 Dreamlight – Earn by completing Dreamlight and village duties.
Once the Slow Cooker is crafted, place it anywhere in the valley to start using it.
How to Use the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Slow Cooker works differently than the regular cooking station. It still requires coal ore to cook meals but also consumes 25 Dreamlight per meal. While it allows for batch cooking, it may be costly for newer players.
Steps to Use the Slow Cooker:
- Interact with the Slow Cooker and select “Choose Ingredients.”
- Pick a recipe from the list and autofill the required ingredients.
- Select the number of meals you want to prepare.
- Wait for the Slow Cooker to complete the meals.
- Collect the prepared meals once they’re ready.
The Slow Cooker can prepare up to 30 meals at once, costing a total of 750 Dreamlight if used to full capacity. While this is a useful addition, it might feel slow for players who frequently cook in bulk.
How Fast is the Slow Cooker in DDV?
While the Slow Cooker is a convenient tool, its cooking speed is significantly slower than expected. For example, it takes over 10 minutes to prepare just three meals, whereas a regular cooking station can complete the same task in under a minute. Cooking 30 meals could take several hours, making it an inefficient option for players who prefer speed.
Honestly, players can now easily cook multiple meals far more quickly at the regular cooking stations. Especially, with the new improvements, players can quickly search the recipes and then autofill the ingredients to start making them instantly.
