Is Disco Elysium on the way to Nintendo switch?

Released about a month ago, Disco Elysium is a hot, new, critical game that has just been released for PC through Steam. It’s a CRPG with a rich history and characters, with excellent writing and voice acting, which might lead you to think that it’s a game that’s probably a good fit for a portable device. If you’re wondering if Disco Elysium fits the Nintendo switch, here’s what you need to know.
Is Disco Elysium on the way to Nintendo switch?
The short answer is no. There is no news of a possible switch port for the game. Speaking to Escapist Magazine, Studio developer ZA / UM mentioned that early next year it is planned to move the game to PS4 and Xbox One. However, there was no mention of whether it would actually be on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
At the same time, since the developers believe that this is a game that could well be transformed into a control scheme on a gaming tablet, a possible switch port is definitely not ruled out. Especially when you take into account the fact that other similar games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity (although the port for this wasn’t exactly well received) have also made the transition to the Nintendo console.
With that in mind, it’s entirely possible that Disco Elysium could well appear on the switch in the future, perhaps after exiting the PS4 and Xbox One ports. We’ll be sure to keep you updated if anything changes and if the developers have something new to announce.
For now, however, the only way to play this game is by buying it on Steam and playing it on PC, or just waiting for the PS4 and Xbox One ports to appear next year.
