Companies and brands all over the world have seen the benefits of gaming, so it’s no surprise that the KFC Gaming account exists and is dedicated to commenting on the latest gaming news as well as conducting sweepstakes and participating in streams from companies like Xbox.

KFC Mocks Delay in Cyberpunk 2077 Launch and They Respond

Since KFC Gaming, they’ve had a running gag called the KFConsole, a console that basically fries up KFC’s famous chicken. We’ve been seeing it for months in various tweets and company reviews.

KFC is mocking the delay in the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 with a similar release in the same style and words as the one that issued the official game count several days ago to announce the delay of Cyberpunk 2077 to December. In that statement (with red instead of yellow background) you can read the same style of apology and announcement, although this time about the launch of KFConsole:

Hey Everyone, Today, we’ve decided to move the release date of the KFConsole by 29 days. The new release date is December 11th. Most likely, there are many emotions and questions in your heads, so. first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies.
The biggest challenge for as right now is creating a literal console that warms chicken, which requires as to prepare and test many elements of it (graphics, connectivity, game accessibility, speed, and most importantly the Chicken Chamber)… while working from home. Since the KFConsole evolved towards almost being the next-gen console somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and runs smoothly. We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 29 days can make any difference in such a creative and complex machine, but they really do.

Some of you might also be wondering what these words mean in light of as saying that the KFConsole would be ready some time ago. Passing certification means the console is ready, can be completed, and is Finger Clickin’ Good to go. But it doesn’t mean we stop working on it and raising the quality bar. On the contrary, this is the time where many improvements are being made which will then be distributed via a Day 8 patch. This is the time period we undercalculated.

We feel we have an amazing console on our hands and are willing to make every decision, even the hardest ones, if it ultimately leads to you getting a console you’ll fall in love with. Also, we’re a UK based team, and the release date was always December 11th. So literally nothing has changed, some of you just assumed wrong. See you in December.

Yours, KFC Gaming Team.

The thing is that it seems that this communication has not seemed too funny to the people who keep track of Cyberpunk 2077 by replying with a message that basically tells us that surely the response they had in mind was not too corporate or formal. Even the Projekt CD account itself has responded to the Cyberpunk 2077 commentary to give a little more meaning to its Tweet:

We imagine that the people of CD Projekt RED will not have been too pleased with this mockery after all that they are going through, especially their exploited workers, to launch a game that seems to have been in development for an eternity and that we don’t know to what extent it can negatively affect all these delays in its release, even more so after announcing that they had reached the Gold phase.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
