Sakurai has dedicated some first impressions to PS5 in his Famitsu column. The creator of Super Smash Bros has talked about the new Japanese console.

Super Smash Bros is one of the most famous sagas in the history of the videogame industry and its creator, Masahiro Sakurai, has become one of the most important figures within Nintendo and the sector in general.

Besides running SSB, and in particular the latest among Ultimate, Sakurai is also known in Japan as a column writer for the Japanese magazine Famitsu. In this column, the Japanese creative usually throws his opinions and experiences as a player and in the last one, he has been talking about PS5.

Sakurai gave his first impressions of Sony’s new-generation console, which he managed to get hold of from a booking made at a chain of shops in the country. In general terms, the creator of Smash Bros says he is satisfied with the console, although he was going deeper into its sensations.

On the positive side, Sakurai said he was impressed by the speed of the loading times and the backward compatibility of PS5 with PS4 games. However, he was also critical of some aspects, such as the limited storage space it incorporates or the lack of better organization of games into folders. He said he hoped that everyone would be able to enjoy PS5 when there was no shortage of stock.
