Several members of the Xbox insider program detect an error after an Xbox console update, known as a “black screen of death.”

Today, it is quite common for major companies to have an Insiders and Testers program, to test the latest updates and added features. And sometimes it’s a good way to catch bugs and problems before they become widespread.

This is the case of an error known as ” black screen of death “, which is affecting the Xbox consoles of some Microsoft insiders. This occurs when applying an update on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S, which has not yet been officially released.

If you are a Microsoft insider, you will be able to enjoy updates and new functions before its launch for other users. Fortunately, this problem has been detected and the Redmond company has already been notified, which has provided a workaround.

Specifically, after applying an update, the Xbox consoles of these insiders suffered crashes and crashes, a product of the so-called “black screen”. There was no apparent solution, although Microsoft has provided a series of steps to fix it, at least provisionally.

In case you are one of those affected, these are the instructions that Microsoft has given, through its technical support service. Follow the steps carefully, and remember that it only affects the Microsoft Insider program .

  • Press and hold the Bind + Eject button for 10-15 seconds
  • You will hear two power-on tones a couple of seconds apart
  • Release the button after hearing the two tones
  • From the menu that appears below, select “Troubleshoot” and then “Reset this Xbox but keep games and apps.”
  • Your Xbox will end up installing the latest version of the public system software
  • You will be prompted to log into your account again after installing the update

Basically, this ” black screen ” error occurs when applying a software version that appears to be faulty. If you do not belong to the Insider program, you should not worry, because this update has not yet been officially released for other users.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. Some time ago, Sony released an update for PS4 that also gave quite a few problems, and the same happened with version 12.0.3 of Nintendo Switch, which was withdrawn by Nintendo hours later.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
