Nintendo will stop repairing Wii from March 31, 2020

Nintendo has officially announced they will stop repairing Wii in Japan from March 31, 2020. The Wii is a home video game console released by Nintendo on November 19, 2006. As a seventh-generation console, the Wii competed with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3.

Officials say “Since it is difficult to secure the parts necessary for repair of the Wii main unit, repair acceptance will end when we arrive on March 31, 2020 (Tuesday). It’s been 14 years since it was released in 2006, but repairs were still being accepted.”

Even if the parts necessary for repair run out of stock even before the above date, repairs may not be accepted. Please note.
