Palia: 'Like A Bird' Quest Walkthrough

‘Like A Bird’ is one of the early quests in Palia that requires players to obtain a Glider to progress further in the story. However, obtaining the Glider demands refined materials that are not readily available as natural resources. In this guide, we will cover the ‘Like A Bird’ Quest in Palia and provide you with the steps to successfully complete it.

‘Like A Bird’ Quest Walkthrough

You’ll unlock the ‘Like A Bird’ quest after completing the Ancient Battery Quest for Jina. Since you’ll need to explore the remaining parts of the Temple of the Waves, having a Glider is essential to bridge the gap. Completing the ‘Like A Bird’ quest will allow you to construct a Glider for this purpose.

Talk to Najuma in Bahari Bay

Upon unlocking the quest, your first objective is to talk to Najuma in Bahari Bay. Found on the eastern side of the world map, Najuma stands near a stream. Initiate a conversation with Najuma and choose the “Can you build me a glider” option.

Gather Supplies for the Glider

After speaking with Najuma, you’ll receive the objective of collecting three different materials:

  • 3x Sapwood Planks
  • 2x Fabric
  • 5x Leather

There are two methods to acquire these materials: the Short and Expensive method, or the Long and Cheap method. Both methods are explained below, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your playthrough.

Long and Cheap Method

If you opt for the Long and Cheap Method, follow these steps:

  • Reach Level 2 in the Foraging Guild
  • Reach Level 2 in the Mining Guild
  • Reach Level 2 in the Furniture Making Guild

Once you’ve leveled up in these guilds, visit Ashura, the Leader of the Foraging Guild. Access his Store by pressing the G button and purchase the recipe for the Basic Sawmill Crafter for 100 Gold. Additionally, acquire the recipe for the Basic Smelter from Hodari for 100 Gold, as it’s required for forging the materials needed to craft Fabric Loom. Then, proceed to Tish, the Leader of the Furniture Making Guild, and access her Store. Purchase the Fabric Loom Crafter recipe from her for another 100 Gold.

Once you have all the crafting recipes, head to your Worktable and craft the necessary materials:

BASIC SAWMILL

  • 40x Sapwood
  • 12x Flint
  • 20x Plant Fiber

BASIC SMELTER

  • 40x Stone
  • 6x Flint
  • 3x Hide

FABRIC LOOM

  • 15x Sapwood Planks
  • 20x Plant Fiber
  • 2x Copper Bars
  • 5x Ceramic

Place the crafted crafters in your plot area. Create Sapwood Planks in the Basic Sawmill crafter, requiring 1x Sapwood for 1x Sapwood Plank, with a crafting time of 1 minute. To produce Leather and Fabric, use the Fabric Loom. Leather requires Hide, while Fabric necessitates Cotton. Obtain hide by hunting Sernuk in the open areas of the world map.

To acquire Cotton, you need to grow it. Purchase 2 Cotton Seeds from Zeki at the General Store for a total of 80 Gold (40 Gold each). Plant the Cotton Seeds in the soil of your Plot Area and water them. After about 5 hours, they will be fully matured and ready for harvesting. Collect the mature cotton and use it in the Fabric Loom to obtain Fabric.

Short and Expensive Method

If you prefer the Short and Expensive method, follow these steps:

  • Visit the Blacksmith Store in Kimila Village and interact with the cash register to access the store.
  • Purchase 3x Sapwood Planks, totaling 12 Gold (4 Gold each).
  • Visit the Furniture Store in Kimila Village and access the store through the cash register.
  • Purchase 5x Leather, costing a total of 300 Gold (60 Gold each).
  • Purchase 2x Fabric, amounting to 380 Gold (190 Gold each).

Return to Najuma

Once you’ve gathered all the required materials, return to Najuma and select the “I brought the supplies for the glider” dialogue option. Progress through the dialogues to conclude the quest and obtain the Glider.

Playing Video Games is the very first hobby that I partake in and it became my favorite hobby. Played Unreal Tournament 2004 as my first game which made me a fan of FPS Games. Story and Adventure Games are still my Cup of Tea to go with as they give more detailing to the described worlds and characters. I love to help out my fellow gamers across all over the world by making my publications.
