A Pokemon Let’s Go player went to great lengths to outplay one of the series’ most notorious NPCs

A player from Pokémon: Let’s Go has recently gone viral on Reddit. Why? Because apparently, he has achieved something unusual: buy a Shiny Pokémon within a game.

How is this possible? Well, he did it through a vendor NPC that offers players Magikarp at really outrageous prices, which really makes him a scammer. However, this fan decided to outwit him and get a shiny from him.

This character is found in the Pokémon Center before Mt. Moon. The player, known as GimmeDatGrimoire on Reddit, decided to restart the game over and over again after purchasing the Magikarp until the copy the character gave him was Shiny.

In total, he spent 375 hours restarting the game. “After almost 3 years of reboots, I have now paid a STRANGE P500 for this,” he shares. And I can finally finish the game. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I was patient and mean enough to waste my life.

The fan nicknamed Magikarp “Outrage” (Scandal) and also took a photo with the NPC when he said: “No refunds.” An undoubtedly peculiar feat considering that the probability of obtaining this shiny is 1 in 4096 encounters. What is your opinion?
